All the staff were very helpful, the hostel is good value and well placed for seeing all of Manhatten, will recommend American Dream to my friends.

They we're very nice as to provide me with a room with a double bed with a single bed on top as I was staying with my boyfriend. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was fantastic to be able to wake up and eat breakfast in the dining room instead of having to leave the hostel and go to a diner.

Deplorable state of repair. General decor awful. Our Room 29 window in serious need of repair. Basin blocked no running water from either tap. Bare pipes & cables running through room also bare light bulb for lighting. In its favour it was clean, toilets etc. cleaned daily and the kitchen clean and tidy.Our first visit to a hostel and we won't be using them again

The location is great, nothing to complain about. The rooms are very small. During our time at the hostel our room was ice cold. The breakfast is good, very cramped though. Bathrooms were very clean! But all in all, the hostel is really run down. Cheap but you should spend a couple of extra bucks somewhere else instead.

Wo - by far, the worst, sketchiest, most devoid of character hostel I've stayed at yet. But, it offers an incredible location to be able to see the city - you are right in the heart of things. If you are only intending your hostel stay to be one where you sleep in a bed, and spend the majority of your time taking in the city, this hostel is cheap and close to all the city offers.
