We were advised by a south african not to stay at Banana, but had already booked and thought how bad could it be? Had booked for 4 nights but left after 1, it was awful. The door to our room didn't close properly, security was terrible and it was dirty. I would strongly advise against staying here, there are many much nicer hostels in Durban, we moved to Happy Hippo which was brilliant.
