Went to the place and it was in the middle of the ghetto. No-one was there to let us in and when we rang the owner he was unable to give us the code to let us in. This was despite informing him on when we were arriving. He then never rang us back...very poor.

This was a pretty good Hostel. The staff was great and helped out a lot. The only negative thing would be that it is located in a pretty bad area (I think all of New Orleans is in a bad area). You need to be careful what route you take to get to bourbon street, but besides that, everything was good.

The bed was lumpy but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for this - Rich- who worked evenings at the front desk- went out of his way to pick me up at the bus station when I arrived and drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay in the middle of a huge downpour- he showed us places to see later and gave us great advice on places to eat. Thanks so much- will definitely be back!

The staff was very friendly and the location was a five minute walk to the French Quarter. They have pass code locks on the door so you're never "locked out" but you feel safe. It was clean, spacious, TV and minifridge in room were very nice to have. Would stay there again. The staff was knowledgeable about the city and were always willing to suggest or recommend places to go. We stayed in the double private and it was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent.

We were dellayed arriving, so i called and emailed the hostel to inform them of our late arrival. We got there and a note on the door told us that reception would be open from 8am the following morning. The kitchen has not enough one plate. The window in room 4 wouldn't lock. No 24hr reception. T.V in room had bas reception. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time however it wasn't good. Apart from enjoying everything outside the hostel, it was a bad time had by us.

not close to the French Quarter; bad part of Bourbon St is at least 20 min. Very sketchy neighborhood; consider the extra costs you will spend on a cab (and breakfast). Room did not lock from the inside. Lockers are also very unsafe. No 24-hour reception (day or night). Richard, a new staffmember this week, used the ladies bathroom to shower etc., leaving it completely wet.

Dina and Daniel (who manage the hostel) are absolutely wonderful people who make the experience feel cozy, welcome and home-like. The location (although a bit dodgy at times) is awesome, being just a few blocks from the quarter.
