Nice hostel we had an small apartment to share.The town is just a place to stay while doing your fraser island trip not much else.

when we arrived ther receptionist had double booked are room and was hoping we didnt turn up......they could have atleast made alternative arrangements as they knew there was a problem the day before me and friend had to share a single bed WHILE OVER CHARGING US and the whole place was flithy DO NOT STAY HERE!

I have stayed at many hostels and I believe that Pippes Rainbow beach is the worst one ever! The location was good but the carelessness and hostile approach of the Reception staff is what made it a terrible hostel. The food wasn't very good either although I did enjoy the free BBQ.

Very good hostel, though I think some of the staff are a bit stressed and there are rules and fines for everything.
Rooms, kitchen and bathroom very clean, maybe the cleanest I have seen so far in Australia.

Great location, immaculate rooms (although TINY!) and clean bathroom. No lockers or safe's and other people staying in our room had a habit of leaving the door wide open!
Free breakfast and BBQ on a wednesday night :-)
We booked a 4 bed dorm but were put into an 8 bed?!
Would definately stay here again
