For the squeamish at heart we do also provide rooms which were not used as cells, but were instead the warden’s offices. All of our bathroom and kitchen facilities are communal except in the family room. We do offer some cells with en-suite toilets.We have three styles of dorm rooms available – 3 beds, 4 beds and six beds. Double rooms contain a double bed, twins contain one set of single bunk beds. The family room contains two bedrooms (a double and a twin), a private lounge area, bathroom and kitchenette. Both sides of our Gaol have communal living areas and kitchens. We have two large outdoor courtyard areas for guests to relax or play in. We provide free wifi for our guests during their stay. We also have ample free parking directly out the front, which easily accommodates caravans or buses. We are happy to arrange free pick up or drop off for any of our guests to public transport depots within our business hours. Please note all guests are required to arrive and check in before 9pm at night. Check out is at 10.30am. You can expect friendly, helpful service during your stay here at the Gaol. Pop into the office on arrival, locate your cell, grab a complimentary tea or coffee and have a self-guided tour of the Gaol. We are now also pleased to offer parking sites for camper vans. Prices are $12 per person per night and guests have full access to all facilities at The Old Mount Gambier Gaol.
